Story ( Spoiler Free ):-
The movie is all about Marakkar who is the navy admiral of Kerala 16th Century. This showcases the conflicts between Portugues Commander Vasco Da Gama and Zamorin.
The flick starts with the scenes of Young Kunjali Marakkar who is all set to marry princess Kalyani Priyadarshan. Scene shifts to a place where the Kunjali Marakkar family ignores the new Trade rules set by Portugues which leads to a deadly war. As expected All the members of the Kunjali Marakkar Family died except Young Marakkar and Uncle Pattu Marakkar.
Story shifts to a revenge mode where Young Marakkar becomes the Most wanted criminal as he exploits the Landlords including Portugues but he is known to be as Savior for Poor and Exploited People.
Now, what are the plans made by Defeated Marakkar and his Uncle? What are wars made by Marakkar for Revenge? What is the role of Keerthy Suresh in this flick? What are the reasons behind the war between Kunjali Marakkar with Portugues along with Samoorthi Empire? What happened at the end forms the rest of the story.
- Mohanlal is best in Marakkar’s role and did justice to the character. All the Actors who enacted in this film are perfectly apt for their respective roles.
- Cinematography and Visuals are treat to watch them on Big Screen.
- The songs and Background score are good.
- Poorly Written Screenplay with Zero connectivity of Characterizations.
- VFX part must have done better.
- Length of the film.
Marakkar is a High Profile film with a whopping budget made on this Periodical Drama. Story-wise everything is good but coming to the screenplay it’s terrible and can’t connect it to the audience even with one character also. Mohanlal and the rest of the Characters are apt for their roles but the director hasn’t made it convincingly which is a huge drawback of this flick.
The songs and Background score are good. Besides, the visuals are a treat to watch. VFX’s work is not so engaging. Should wait and see how the audience receives this film.
Rating :- 2.25/5
