Story ( Spoiler Free ):-
The film revolves around the character of Kapil Dev ( Ranveer Singh ) who led Team India in 1983. At that time no one in India has hope that India will get World Cup. Besides Indians started letting down Indian Team as they thought Kapil team are unfit and what not! This is the time where Kapil Team took it as a challenge and shown their victory which rebounds entire India in the form of First World Cup.
How did Kapil Dev led the team? What are the obstacles faced by Team India over winning World Cup forms the 83 Story.
Positives 👍:-
- Ranveer Singh lived in Kapil Dev role and did an awesome job. Special Mention to Jiiva for giving the best in Kirsh Srikanth’s role. Deepika Padukone as Kapil Dev’s wife cameo is also good.
- Director Kabir Khan has done a fantastic job and recreated the scenarios that happened in past.
- Special mention to VFX Department for efforts kept in the second half over cricket matches.
- The cinematography and Production values are good.
Negatives 👎:-
- The Length of film.
- Should have focused on the backstory of all cricketers.
Overall :-
Finally, 83 is an engaging cricket film that recreates the scenarios that happened in the past for winning the first world cup to India. Ranveer Singh as Kapil dev lived in the role and gave justice to the character. The rest of all did a fantastic job.
Director Kabir Khan had done the best job in recreating the past and succeeded in engaging this biography of Kapil Dev. Special mention to the VFX team the efforts kept in the second half of the film. Cinematography and production values are lavish. Only drawback is the length of film.
